Madeleine has more than 20 years of experience in journalism, public relations, publications and nonprofits. Her first love is writing and she has extensive expertise in newsletter production and editing, story development, and creation of marketing materials. She has an ability to write concisely and creatively in a variety of styles and voices.
Madeleine began her career in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. as a reporter at community newspapers where her work garnered her awards from the Virginia Press Association and the Maryland Delaware D.C. Press Association. From there, she segued into work as a writer for Restaurants U.S.A., which was the former monthly magazine of the National Restaurant Association. Following that job, she held positions at an international public relations agency and then as a media relations manager at an international development nonprofit.
After a move to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, Madeleine served as Assistant Director of News and Publications at Eastern Virginia Medial School. A military spouse, Madeleine has also held numerous volunteer and paid positions serving the military community, including as a military student advisor for an online military community college. She volunteers with her tween and teen boys as a turtle guardian for Malama na Honu at Laniakea Beach.
She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida State University.
